The MediaDefendr (beta) Story
MediaDefendr (beta) went official on Tuesday, 7 Aug 2007 at 15:14:59 -0700 when the forward-thinking folks at Universal Music Group demonstrated their willingness to take risks in the name of art by approving the launch of the MediaDefendr (beta) project.
MediaDefendr (beta) is about Web 2.0 and Web 2.0 is about participation, community, and YOU. Crowdsourcing and collective affinity spacework is changing the media environment and our friends in the music industry are here to say “Thanx 4 da add”.
When we dropped RIAAMix, Vol. 1 two years ago, Web 2.0 had not yet emerged. It’s time to upgrade the movement and joyfully ride the participation superhighway to rip, mix, and spoof collaboratively – forever.

Claire Chanel and Sherman F Baby speak a critical dialect of the contact language that causes media rupture. If your industry is experiencing rapid convergence – Claire and Sherman can smooth the transition and make sure that your names are on top.
They lead with the confidence that evolves from years of experience in transcommunity movement-building ecologies: virtual worlds, b2b/p2p networks, message boards, blogging, vlogging, tagging, toasting, Ruby on Rails, read/write web, mixing, remixing, premixing, rapid prototyping, and Linux.
